I’m Fran Rosa and this is the why beyond my how as a designer. It’s not a manifesto, but a love letter.
I always start small, because reducing communication to a single pictogram is equally challenging and rewarding.
The devil is in the details, and with typography come the first steps in the dance that is design.
And design — like dancing — is better with clear, noticeable tension, in contrast with usual balance and order.
Creating thoughtfully crafted shameless dissonance as seen in 20th century avant—gardes.
And hand in hand with visually challenging forms, subversive tones and concepts.
Using opportunity and context to use — and create — pop culture with unique vision.
With strong shapes and geometric constructions to convey complex messages using simple vector illustration.
Fearless of ridicule and with sense of humour, even where unexpected, as in anime.
Making use of the most brave and powerful communication strategy: being honest.
